Around 1956 Sunset Magazine sparked a trend with a feature on tiled furnishings. California modernism was extremely popular and throughout the west craftsmen were creating unique, one of a kind treasures with cut tile. This table is spectacular! The black and white tiles are extremely minimalist and fit with the mid century period and decor perfectly. Each tile was hand placed and tables like this were labors of love - works of art from another era when people had time, patience and endless wells of inspiration for such endeavors! This table is a perfect accent for a stylish interior and it's size allows it to be placed almost anywhere. Great next to a reading chair, lounge or console stereo!
