This Rembrandt is one of the rarest and nicest preserved floor lamps of its kind and emerges from a glorious mid century estate a stone's throw from Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West! Rembrandt designed a collection of lamps around a "Gazelle" motif around 1952. This gazelle has become an iconic symbol of the early mid century and the "gazelle series" has become one of the most popular collected Rembrandt lamp among mid century decorators and aficionados. This lamp - the "Gazelle Club Lamp" is the rarest of all of them and is, literally, one of a handful of surviving examples. To many interior decorators this lamp is the Holy Grail of Rembrandt mid century lighting! For good reasons! The style on this lamp is perfect! It captures the avant-garde sculptural movement of the fifties with the minimalist design ethos. Satin black enamel is utterly gorgeous and brings out the purity and clean lines of the design!
