An incredibly rare Marcel Dyf lithograph of his favorite subject - Claudine! Marcel Dyf (1899-1985) was a bit of a "scandalous" fellow! He met Claudine around 1955 and started painting her when she was just 19 - and he was 56. He adored her and married her in 1965, when she was 29 and he was 66. Many of the paintings of Claudine were somewhat risque, yet all capture this mid century French essence - perhaps better than any other artist. The colors, style and details are all so perfectly in tune with Mid Century Paris! This work is one of the most rare and an extremely hard Dyf to acquire! It is also one of his more revealing paintings of Claudine! This is contemporary piece produced at about the same time it was painted and when Dyf's works had already achieved him a good measure of notoriety and following.
