STYLISH! MID CENTURY MODERN ATOMIC TRIPOD LAMP! WEINBERG 50S 60S VTG BRASS RETRO

SUPERB! SCULPTURAL ACCENT LAMP BEAUTIFUL SCULPTED BRASS ! (CA. 1950-1953) (APPROX. 13" TALL AND 5" IN DIAMETER) Frederic Weinberg had a long and fruitful career in the furnishings industry that began with his early work designing plaster sculptures circa 1939. His modern style was much appreciated and he became one of the primary designers for Fine Arts In Plaster (FAIP), a company which produced modern plaster lamps. After a decade or so he left FAIP to form his own gift ware type company, which produced artistic furnishings and decor for the home. He has a singularly distinctive line, as all artists do, and his work is coveted for this fine modern line he incorporated into his designs. This lamp is very much in the Weinberg style and has his trademark angles and swirls garnishing a tripod cylinder. This lamp masterfully defines space and manipulates light. It is both whimsical and practical. It merges form and function. A fiberglass/paper type shade is illumined by a single socket and the combination of sculptured wire, fiberglass and the decorative brass work is a delight for the mid century eye! Very nice vintage condition. Typical wear to fiberglass and brushed brass wire surfaces. Lamp turns on with a pull string below the shade and uses a standard 15-25 watt incandescent bulb. The 'mid century' mood this lamp creates at night is simply outstanding and it is a great accent to any stylish interior!
